How to check for an airlock

The problem will be that when you turn on your taps you will experience a total or partial loss of running water. In my experience when this situation occurs there has usually been a disruption to your main water supply.
Sometimes you could have running water in your cold tap but no water at your hot water tap. You could also have running water at your hot tap but no water at your toilet cistern. Plumbing airlocks can come in all types of different situation.
Usually if you can check in your attic and see if your cold water storage is full of water or not this is a good indicator if there interruption in your cold mains water supply or not.
